Player Protection

Hockey is a non-contact sport, yeah right. We all need to be safe when playing and most if not all clubs recommend that players have shin guards and a gum shield.

Shin guards are an essential component of the modern game especially if you are a defender or playing on a ‘bouncy’ pitch where a ball will raise all too easily especially when it is a shot on target.

Platinum Sports do not currently stock gum shields, however these will be available shortly.

Gloves are optional and help to protect against stick clashes or ball hits on the right hand as this is the hand most likely to be injured because of its position on the stick
