Ireland Masters and Platinum Sports
This summer saw the Ireland Masters team travel to play in the home internationals against, England, Scotland, and Wales. The matches were played in Portsmouth over the weekend 29th - 30th of August. Masters are players aged over 40 but don’t let the age fool you these are determined, focussed, and well prepared individuals.It was a tough two days for the squad with a lot to prove from last year when they finished bottom of the table. The much better prepared squad under a new coach and a new training regime were looking forward to the challenge and the opportunity to represent their country. Ireland played Wales and were beaten 2-0 both goals coming from penalty strokes, their next opponents were Scotland who they defeated 3-2 in a fantastic game of hockey. Finally on the Sunday they played England and were competing well with the score at 2-1 to England but England turned up and heat and finished a comfortable 6-1 ahead.
October sees the squad travel to their biggest challenge, the International Masters Tournament in Hong Kong to play the likes of, Pakistan, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, to name but a few.
Some of the players have been so impressed with the Carbo Tech that they have opted to use it as their stick of choice for the tournaments. The Ireland Masters 1st choice keeper is also using our goalie stick as well.
